/// SCRUB LAB · SPECIMEN 02

FOUR SECONDSOF FILM, ON A WHEEL.

no play button anywhere.

The same seventy-two frames, this time as one 1.4MB clip with a keyframe every second frame so it seeks instantly. The page fetches it as a blob, then writes the playhead from scroll through a lerp, a deadband and a seek queue, which is what stops a fast flick from freezing the decoder.

T 0.000s / 4.000s MAPPED ACROSS THE STAGE'S WHOLE VISIBLE LIFE

/// WHY THE CLIP NEVER FREEZES

THE FILM RUNSON THE SLIDE IN,NOT JUST THE PIN.

a still photograph sliding past reads as a broken page.

A pinned stage is on screen for a viewport before its travel starts and a viewport after it ends. Drive the clip off the pin alone and it sits on frame one through the whole entry. This one is mapped across the stage's entire visible life, so the first and last screens are moving too.
